Summary
About the Grant
We are offering four grants of €4,500 each (divided over two years: €2,250 in 2025 and €2,250 in 2026) to support collaborative projects that align with the principles of GCDE. These projects will contribute to UCC’s vision of fostering a globally aware, critically engaged, and socially responsible university community.
The grant also forms part of a broader research initiative to explore the value and dynamics of international partnerships in GCDE. Selected teams will work closely with existing Praxis Project partnerships in Palestine, Malawi, and Peru or propose a new partnership aligned with GCDE principles.
Key Dates
Stage 1: Expression of Interest (EOI) and Survey Deadline: 2nd February 2025
Notification of stage 1 application results: 12th February 2025
Stage 2: Full Project Proposal Deadline: 23rd February 2025
Project Start Date: Approx. 5th March (Note: some of the preliminary work is already underway but successful applicants will join the process during the first two weeks of March).
Who Can Apply?
This grant is open to all UCC staff, including academic, administrative, technical, and research personnel, from the following areas:
College of Arts, Celtic Studies, and Social Sciences
College of Business and Law
College of Science, Engineering, and Food Science
College of Medicine and Health
Other research centres, networks, and clusters
Teams must include members from at least two disciplines, and the lead applicant must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent. Early-career researchers are highly encouraged to participate, and applicants must either have completed the Praxis Project Digital Badge or commit to completing it in early 2025.

The application process consists of two stages:
Stage 1: Expression of Interest
Complete the EOI Survey by 2nd February 2025 to express your interest and provide details about your expertise, preferred partnerships, and motivation. Suggested interdisciplinary teams will be notified and invited to submit a full application.

Stage 2: Full Project Proposal
Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a detailed project proposal by 23rd February 2025.
