The educational resources presented in this section are the product of the Praxis Project, an initiative based at University College Cork (UCC) and funded by Irish Aid, which seeks to integrate Global Citizenship and Development Education (GCDE) into higher education. The Praxis Project is designed to promote critical engagement with global justice issues, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among staff and students. It provides a platform for discovery, dialogue, and action, encouraging educators to embed the values of global citizenship, social justice, and sustainable development into their teaching and research practices.

At its core, the Praxis Project aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling students and staff to reflect critically on pressing global issues and take meaningful action. Through this lens, the project draws on Freire’s concept of praxis, which emphasises a cycle of reflection and action, helping participants transform their understanding into concrete efforts that address inequalities and injustices.
