Food Bank

The Food Bank is an initiative of the Students’ Union that started in 2019 and reopened in 2021. It aims at providing food and hygiene products to students experiencing financial hardship and food insecurity.

After paying fees, rent and bills, students are left with hardly any money to feed themselves and some are not able to ask for support from their parents or guardians.

As a testament to its success, the food bank ran out of food within 50 minutes of opening on 6th October 2021. Since then, it opens on an appointment basis on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The food bank has seen an overwhelming response from students, staff, and local businesses. Their GoFundMe page also helped raise the much-needed funds.
